Local discovery needs local detail

Vety helps Romanian pet owners find veterinary practices. Tierivo serves Germany and Austria, while Dierivo extends the directory family into the Netherlands. The shared problem is fragmented information: a name, a location and a usable contact matter more than a decorative landing page. A directory should help someone reach the appropriate practice. It should also make room for corrections, because practice details change and imported information can be incomplete.

One engine, distinct markets

A shared Django data engine imports and normalises practice information. Astro publishes fast, localised directory pages. The model is reusable, but the presentation cannot be a careless language swap. Local addresses, country context, terminology and links need to match the market. That gives each brand a clear job while keeping the data pipeline manageable. Sharing infrastructure is useful precisely because it leaves more attention for the parts that need local review.

SEO follows useful practice pages

The directory combines search, practice profiles, contact details, pet-care guides and listing requests. Its strongest page is the one that answers a local visitor’s actual question. I treat unique practice information and clear navigation as the basis of the content, rather than filling pages with repeated city keywords. The relationship with PokiPaw is also practical: discovery helps someone find a practice, while a pet-care app organises the animal’s records and reminders afterwards. They solve neighbouring tasks.

The stack and current scope

The stack uses Astro, Django, PostgreSQL, Celery and TypeScript. The public brands have separate domains: vety.ro, tierivo.de, tierivo.at and dierivo.nl. Their web services are present on Hetzner. That confirms operating surfaces, not the freshness of every practice record. Contact information and local availability still deserve verification with the practice itself. I do not describe imported listings as endorsements or imply that a directory replaces veterinary care.
